Professor's Bio

Katharine Kravetz

Katharine Kravetz, the co-creator of Transforming Communities, has taught courses in social and criminal justice at American University since 1979. She has written on topics such as police conduct and corrections in the community. She is a lawyer who worked as a Public Defender in Washington for many years.

Professor Kravetz is a graduate of Harvard University and the Georgetown University Law Center. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer and Director of American University's World Capitals Program.
